Chair of Finance and Audit Committee and Trustee

Contribute to our Governance and leadership

Gloucester Cathedral is seeking to appoint a Chair of its Finance and Audit Committee and Trustee.

We are looking for someone who has experience and expertise in financial accountability, management and sustainability, and who holds a professional qualification in accounting, with supporting evidence of commercial or charitable experience at Board level.

This role is a three-year appointment in the first instance, and requires someone who can make a valuable contribution to the life of the Cathedral.

The post is subject to a six month probationary period during which the appointee will be an interim trustee and member of Chapter.

On successful completion of the probationary period the appointee will become a Chapter Canon and be formally designated Canon Treasurer in accordance with the Constitution and Statutes of the Cathedral, pursuant to the Cathedrals Measure 2021.

Membership of the Chapter and the College of Canons is predicated on the role of Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee, so should this role be resigned or draw to a close, membership of these two bodies would lapse co-terminously.
