Go back to normal view
Between April and October, volunteers lead groups of visitors in regular tours of the magnificent medieval tower. A charge is made for visitors who are brave enough to tackle the 269 steps to the top and this is an important source of income required for the maintenance of the building. The tours include special access to the ringing and bell chambers as well as the opportunity to take in the beautiful views across the countryside from the top.
If you are reasonably fit and have a head for heights this is an enjoyable volunteer role which you can learn as you go on the job.
