Highlights Tours

Guided ToursA personal experience

Guided Tours are currently free of charge

To ensure that our Guided Tours are safe and enjoyable we are running some trials.  If you would be happy to provide us with some feedback about your experience, please ask at the Welcome Desk about joining one of these free Guided Tours during your visit.

Please note that those taking part in a trial tour will be required to wear a face covering throughout it (unless exempt).

Join a Cathedral Guide on one of our daily Highlights Tours. You will hear about the fascinating world of the monks who used to live here, see how architecture has evolved over the last 1000 years and visit where Harry Potter was filmed.

Tours last around 50 minutes. They are usually available at the following times:

Monday - Friday 10.30am, 11am, 12noon, 1.30pm, 2pm and 3pm
Saturday 10.30am, 11am, 12noon, 1.30pm, 2pm
Sunday 12.30pm

Sometimes we have to change times of tours. You can Check our calendar for latest dates and times. However please be aware that all tours may be subject to last minute changes. Our Welcome Team will advise you of availability on the day.

When they're not giving tours, our guides are available to answer any questions you may have. Look out for anyone wearing a red sash on your way around the Cathedral.

Please note that currently tours are in English only.

To book private tour, or if you would like to bring more than six people, please contact our Visitor Experience Officer:
