Winter Library Tour - Christmas Story

Winter Library Tour - Christmas Story

Saturday 15 December 11.45am, 1.45pm and 2.45pm

The beautiful 15th century monastic library is hidden high above the Cathedral, up thirty-eight spiral steps.  It is a gem that was originally part of the Abbey and holds a wonderful collection of books and manuscripts dating back to the 11th century. Our volunteers and Cathedral Archivist will share the story of the library and answer any questions.

This winter there is the chance

  • to see some of our best medieval manuscripts on 17 November
  • to combine Lessons and Carols as you follow the Christmas story in our Bibles and join us for Carols on the Hour in the Cathedral on 15 December
  • discover the Royal connections in our Library on 19 January

Tickets: £7, children £3, under 11s free. Available on the day from the Cathedral Gift Shop. For more information, or to reserve your tickets in advance please call 01452 229818
