‘Where There is Light’ - An installation artwork by Squidsoup

‘Where There is Light’
An installation artwork by Squidsoup in partnership with GARAS

Thursday 16 January - Sunday 23 February

Lady Chapel

Where There is Light is a specially designed installation to celebrate 20 years of Gloucestershire Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (GARAS). The installation is created and provided by Gloucestershire based, internationally acclaimed, digital arts group, Squidsoup.

Working in partnership with GARAS; the Everyman Theatre; The Music Works and Gloucester Cathedral; Squidsoup’s artwork provides an immersive sensory experience to visitors, aiming to raise awareness of the work GARAS does to support asylum seekers and refugees locally.

A bespoke soundscape created in collaboration by the Everyman Theatre, The Music Works and Squidsoup, gives an audio narrative featuring stories of

people from various countries who are now living in Gloucester and who have used the services that GARAS offers.

The Lady Chapel is a sacred place. When visiting please enjoy the artwork as slowly and as quietly as possible.

Where There is Light is designed especially for this space. Visitors are invited to walk slowly in and through the lights. Please move gently, reflect and enjoy the experience.  Thank you.
