Local Hero: Edward Jenner – Science Art workshop

Led by artist Maggie Lushington Cathedral Cloister Pioneer of vaccination Dr Edward Jenner is both a global hero in the world of science and health but also a local acclaimed polymath. From Berkeley Gloucestershire Edward Jenner saved countless lives through his work developing the successful smallpox vaccine. Gloucester Cathedral is home to a well-known statue of Dr Jenner honouring him and his work. This workshop explores the colourful world of science as art – drawing inspiration from digital images of the smallpox virus, participants can have a go at creating their own amazing science art. Recommended for children age 8-12 (must be accompanied by an adult) The session is free and you can drop in any time between 1.00pm and 3.00pm.
