Come & Sing The Armed Man with GCS

Come & Sing The Armed Man with GCS

Saturday 10 November 10.00am

We are inviting singers to join with our GCS regulars to sing five works as part of Gloucester Cathedral's Remembrance weekend to mark the one hundredth anniversary of the end of World War One.

The pieces we will all sing are:

• Locus Iste - Bruckner
• If Ye Love Me - Tallis
• Cantique de Jean Racine - Fauré
• Gaelic Blessing - Rutter
• The Armed Man - Jenkins

We are inviting you to join us for the concert but you will also be expected to attend as many of the three, two hour rehearsals before the day as possible in order to prepare the chorus fully.

N.B. If you are applying from choirs a long way away, it will obviously not be possible to attend all the rehearsals to the only compulsory sessions will be on the day itself

These rehearsals will be held on Mondays 15th & 29th October and 5th November, all at 7:30pm at the King's School in Gloucester. There will also be a morning and afternoon rehearsal in the cathedral on the day of the concert itself.

The cost:

Guest singers will pay either £30 without lunch or £35 with lunch (soup and roll plus refreshments) which covers all rehearsals, the concert and music hire (N.B. GCS singers do not pay as this concert is part of their season and covered by their annual subscription)

How to apply:

For now, make a note in your diary and, as soon as booking opens, we will send another newsletter with details of where you can reserve your space.

Audience Tickets:

If you want to buy tickets to be in the audience on the day, these are priced at £12 for adults, £5 for students and under 18s. All seats are unreserved. To buy your audience tickets, please click here.
