Pray with us
Prayers in the Blue Chapel
We hope you will pray with us through this site. We update our prayer page regularly with prayers for you to share with us.
Online prayer board
You may leave us your personal prayer requests on our online prayer board. Like prayers left on the candlestand in the cathedral, these will be offered up at our evening worship and again at communion the following morning.
A prayer of St Benedict
The monks at the Cathedral followed the Rule of St. Benedict from the 13th Century until 1540 when King Henry VIII abolished the monasteries.
Gracious and Holy Father,
St Benedict (c.480-547)
give us wisdom to recognise you,
intelligence to understand you,
diligence to seek you,
patience to wait for you,
eyes to see you,
hearts to meditate on you,
and lives to proclaim you,
through the power of the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord.
