Gloucester Cathedral is not just a beautiful building, it is a living and working place which many visit each day – from schools taking part in history tours or visiting an art exhibition, to locals and tourists attending the daily singing of choral evensong and enjoying the peace whilst saying their prayers.
Keeping Gloucester Cathedral open to the public costs around £43,000 per week (£2.2 million per year). We receive no direct funding from the Government and rely on donations and gifts in wills, along with the many hours of time given by our volunteers. There are many ways in which you can help us continue our vital work in the community of Gloucestershire and keep the Cathedral working for generations to come.

Cathedral Friends
The Friends are a dedicated group whose funds contribute to the life of the Cathedral through the support of the maintenance of the building and the choirs. Friends enjoy special events and services on an annual basis arranged especially for them.
