Gloucester Cathedral

Group Visits

GROUP VISITS
Groups are very welcome at the Cathedral. Please contact Christine Turton in advance to book a visit.

Booking your visit in advance enables us to manage visitor numbers safely. We can also plan to avoid your visit clashing with (for example) a funeral, or a day of organ-tuning! While we make every effort to welcome everyone to our beautiful Cathedral, sometimes we are unable to accommodate unbooked groups and may have to turn them away if they are likely to be disruptive to other events taking place in the Cathedral.
Leaders of unbooked tour groups will be asked to register their group at the Visitor information Point inside the Cathedral. There is an expectation that the group will make a financial contribution to the upkeep of the Cathedral.
The services of fully-trained Cathedral Guides are available to booked parties at no extra charge. We regret that, because all our Guides are volunteers, we cannot guarantee to supply Guides when groups book at short notice. Ideally we need 10 working days notice depending on the size of the group.  Tours are conducted in English.  If you require a Cathedral guide and your group is made up of visitors who do not speak English, you will need to supply 1 x translator per 15 visitors.  Printed guides in a variety of languages are available in the Cathedral.

Please note however, that it is not normally possible to have group tours before 9.45am because of morning services.
