Cathedral Friends
Restoration of the NE tower
By joining the Friends, you are supporting the Cathedral and will also have the opportunity of meeting others with shared interests and attending regular events.
The Friends, founded in 1936, currently have over 1900 members. Most come from Gloucestershire, but others come from all over the world.
The aim of the Friends is to support the Dean and Chapter in maintaining the worship and music and the fabric and fittings of the Cathedral Church, and to offer voluntary service when possible.
This support is given by members through their regular payment of subscriptions and, for some, by joining in the life and worship of the Cathedral Community. Some who live locally choose to help in a variety of practical ways: as Guides and Welcomers; by staffing the information and exhibition desks; as members of the Flower Guild or as voluntary cleaners; by helping in the Friends’ office.
The Gloucester Cathedral Friends welcome everyone who has a concern for this great building and an interest in any part of its life.
