Ringing at Gloucester Cathedral
Sunday ringing is normally a quarter peal prior to 3pm Evensong. The bands are organised from a pool of, currently, 26 ringers.
One or two “open” practices per month are held on Tuesdays, commencing at 7.30pm at which visiting experienced ringers are welcome. Currently these practices focus mainly on Surprise Royal and Stedman/Erin Cinques.
There are 150 steps up to the ringing chamber.
Telephone: John Smith (Ringing Master) 01452 415646
Any enquiries of an historical nature should be addressed to the Cathedral Archivist. However, please note that there are no records of bellringers’ names before 1978.
