ARTournament Cultural Weekend
ARTournament proudly present Gloucestershire's Next Poet Laureate
ARTournament (www.artournament.co.uk) is collaborating with the County Council to find the next official Poet Laureate for Gloucestershire. Peter Wyton who was the last Poet Laureate for Gloucester will perform one of his own poems before a line-up of the county's most talented poets compete in this entertaining and nail biting event. The final decision for who wins the title will be decided by the audience voting for their favourite on the day. The award will be presented by the Lord Lieutenant of Gloucestershire (and Lay Member of the Chapter) Dame Janet Trotter
Our MC will be the multi-talented Angie Belcher. Angie is a performance poet and comedienne from Bristol who has gained a reputation for her witty, clever and highly entertaining performances.
Chris Fordwoh of ARTournament said, "We have a great line-up of entertaining local poets competing to win the title. Every member of the audience will get to vote after hearing the poets perform their work - we want the people to choose their own poet, someone who will be regarded as the people's poet.
