Sensory trail testing - can you help?

As part of Project Pilgrim we are developing a range of new ways for visitors to explore Gloucester Cathedral. As well as our popular and knowledgeable volunteer guides, we will soon have a virtual tour, digital app, information panels and touch screen hubs. Visitors will be able to discover and learn in a way and at a pace which suits them.

This weekend marks national Disabled Access Day. Through Pilgrim, we will improve physical access by replacing existing lifts and providing level entry access to the west door and Lady Chapel for the first time.

Whilst work is underway, we will also develop new publications for visitors, including a sensory trail to promote accessible learning. This trail will give those who like to learn in a tactile way suggested points of interest in the Cathedral and activities to explore them.

We'd love visitors to try out these suggested activities by downloading our pilot trail here and then providing feedback by emailing our Community Engagement Manager, Helen - helen.jeffrey@gloucestercathedral.org.uk
